Abstract
Standards and best practices have been identified as critical resources in the management of electronic records. What is the role of standards and best practices in RIM? If standards are critical to managing electronic records, how can archivists and records managers better participate in the process? Are current standards development processes collaborative in nature? How well does the process bring together the right expertise and technical skills to effectuate a standard that reflects current theory and practice? This case study examines the development of the DRCP in response to these questions.
