Abstract
Standards are a core feature of a new form of devolution of power in our society. Standards codify technical specifications for measurement, design, performances, or side effects of products, industrial processes, and services. Entwined between domestic voluntary measures and global rules, standards affect virtually every aspect of our daily lives.
