Abstract
This dissertation project systematically analyzed a series of open-source texts to examine the representation of users in the open-source community. This systematic analysis involved a multiple-methodological approach in order to provide views from various angles and approaches. Namely, I used rhetorical analysis, discourse analysis, survey research, and interviews to examine texts from the open-source movement.
