Abstract
Don't let this hypothetical horror story happen to you: a technology company, TechCo, has spent a great deal of time and money developing its hot new product. But a week before the start of production, someone notes, almost in passing, that "Company X has been in the news lately suing companies for patent infringement," and asks, "Don't we use some of their technology in our hot new product?"
