Abstract
SPIFFE, the Secure Production Identity Framework for Everyone develops a set of open source specifications for securely identifying software systems in dynamic and heterogeneous environments. The specifications define short lived cryptographic identity documents called SVIDs that run through an application programming interface capable of bootstrapping and issuing identity to services across organizational boundaries. Workloads can then use these identity documents when authenticating to other workloads by establishing a TLS connection or by signing and verifying a JWT token. SPIFFE is a Graduate Project of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.
