Abstract
The members of the Open Card Consortium (OCC) focused on the importance of authenticated access and secure transactions for the secure functioning and continued growth of on-line activities. The OpenCard Framework (OFC) created by OCC provided a Java API to access both to smart card readers and to the applications embedded on the smart cards. The work ended with version 1.2 of the specification and a reference implementation by IBM. *Inactive
