Abstract
The Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA) was formed to produce software standards for heterogeneous and interacting agents and agent-based systems. It focuses on the promotion of technologies and interoperability specifications that facilitate the end-to-end interworking of intelligent agent systems in commercial and industrial practice. FIPA is organized according to two groups: those involved in the production and development of standards and those involved in the support mechanism of FIPA.
