Abstract
Founded in 1987, ESTA was a non-profit commercial trade association representing the North American entertainment technology industry. ESTA's functions included: representing the interests of members within the industry, in allied fields and in governmental affairs; investigating and disseminating information about areas of common business concerns; advising and assisting members in the conduct of their businesses; providing services that directly reduce the costs of doing business; providing business and technical information and training; developing programs to make the industry safer and more productive; and promoting ethical business practices through its Code of Conduct. *Merged with the Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA) in 2010
