Abstract
Digital Cinema Initiatives, LLC (DCI) developed and documented voluntary specifications for an open architecture for digital cinema that promotes a uniform level of technical performance, reliability and quality control. DCI also facilitates the development of business plans and strategies to help increase deployment of digital cinema systems in movie theaters; supports the formalization of industry standards by SMTPE, ISO, and other trade organizations; and examines the process of certification and compliance in conjunction with industry participants.
