Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM)

Overview: The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) promotes and represents manufacturers of major and portable home appliances, floor care products and suppliers to the industry. AHAM's basic function is to provide a legally supervised framework in which the industry can act on matters of mutual interest. It functions in those areas that its members are unable to operate individually (industry statistics or product certification) and supports economies through joint action (special research, public information) or collective action (government relations). AHAM's programs and services fall primarily into five areas: government representation; business data compilation; self-regulation; technical standards development; product certification; and public information.
