Abstract
A report which summarizes the technology, challenges and future of RFID technology. The report explains the technology behind RFID technology, its prospects, privacy concerns, and spectrum allocation issues. Of significance to MetaLibrary users is a section describing the standards and standards development organizations active in this area, and stressing the importance of proper coordination among them in order to ensure global interoperability of tags and equipment.
