Abstract
The Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) promotes the development and deployment of interoperable products and services for data switching and routing using optical networking technologies. Its goals include: encouraging co-operation among telecom industry participants (equipment manufacturers, telecom service providers and end users); promoting development of optical internetworking products; promoting nationwide and worldwide compatibility and interoperability; encouraging input to national and international standards bodies; and identifying, selecting, augmenting and publishing optical internetworking specifications.
