Wholesale Applications Community (WAC)

Overview: The Wholesale Applications Community (WAC) was an organization that was set up to create a unified and open platform to allow mobile software developers to more easily write applications usable on a variety of devices, operating systems and networks. At least 48 companies were members of the organization. *On July 17, 2012 the major programs and initiatives driven by the Wholesale Applications Community (WAC) would be integrated into the GSM Association (GSMA). WAC work was later incorporated into the OneAPI Exchange, an initiative to provide application programming interfaces (APIs) that enable applications to exploit mobile network capabilities, such as messaging, authentication, payments and location-finding with a cross-operator reach
