International Imaging Industry Association (I3A)

Overview: The International Imaging Industry Association (I3A) was created in 2001 by the merger of the Photographic and Imaging Manufacturers Association (PIMA), and the Digital Imaging Group (DIG), which was created at the advent of the digital image era. It was a common forum for the industrial imaging industry. It supervised standards for photography and digital imaging, such as JPEG 2000 and PTP as well as the Internet Imaging Protocol. As the Secretariat for the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee 42 (ISO/TC42) on Photography and Administrator for the USA Technical Advisory Group for this committee, I3A was also empowered to follow a de jure process as well. *Merged into IEEE in 2012
