Overview: The Open Design Alliance is a nonprofit organization of over 1,000 members in numerous countries, which develops Teigha, a software development platform used to create engineering applications, including CAD. The main idea is to make core graphics technology accessible to software developers, allowing them to focus on application development, including custom data access and editing utilities, visualization tools, and even full-scale CAD (computer-aided design) systems. The platform also supports the use of both DWG (DraWinG) and DGN (design) files, with import and export capabilities to other file formats.
