Overview: The Open Information Security Foundation (OISF) is a non-profit foundation chartered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to build a next-generation intrusion detection and prevention engine. OISF is part of and funded by the the Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) and the Department of Homeland Security's Directorate for Science and Technology HOST program (Homeland Open Security Technology). OISF aims to build an open source licensed engine available to any user or organization, building on new and existing technology.
