Wireless Power Consortium (WPC)

Overview: Established in 2008, the Wireless Power Consortium's (WPC) mission is to establish Qi as a global standard for powering rechargeable electronic products. Qi is an inductive power standard designed to transfer power over distances of up to 1.6 inches where a mobile device is placed on top of the power transmission pad. The WPC has more than 120 member companies manufacturing or selling mobile phones, consumer electronics, batteries, semiconductors, components, wireless power technology, and infrastructure such as wireless operators, furniture and automotive parts. Qi products are available in the United States, Asia, and Europe.
