Overview: NLets is a non-profit corporation that operates the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS), an interstate justice and public safety network for the secure exchange of law enforcement, criminal justice, and public safety-related information. NLETS is owned and operated by the states and funded by the fees for service. The user population is all of the United States and territories, Federal agencies with a justice component, selected international agencies, and stretegic partners that serve the law enforcement community. The types of data being exchanged includes motor vehicle and drivers' data, Canadian and Interpol databases, state criminal history records and driver license and corrections images serving 45,000 user agencies.
