Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Forum

Overview: The ATM Forum was an international association of more than 160 organizations representing computer and communication industries, as well as government agencies, research organizations and end users. Established in 1991, the Forum's mission was to support the implementation, advancement, interoperability and convergence of Asynchronous Transfer Mode ("ATM") and other broadband technologies, applications and services. It also focused on promoting industry-wide cooperation and educating the marketplace. The ATM Forum consisted of a global Technical Committee (TC), a User Committee, and a Market Awareness Committee. *The ATM Forum became the Broadband Forum, http://www.broadband-forum.org/index.php.
