Overview: DDEX was formed in 2006 to develop and maintain communication standards to support the digital distribution of digital content (initially focusing on music and music-related assets), to improve the efficiency of information sharing and transaction processing between participants in the music supply chain through the use of appropriate standards, and to promote the global implementation of compliant products. The founding membership includes major music owner/distributors, music rights societies, and on-line music service providers.
