Overview: The IPv6 Forum works to improve the market and user awareness of IPv6 by creating a secure Next Generation Internet and allowing equitable access to knowledge and technology. IPv6 is short for "Internet Protocol Version 6" and is the protocol designed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to replace the current version Internet Protocol, IP Version 4 ("IPv4"). The Forum comprises Internet vendors, researchers, and academics. Objectives of the Forum include: establishing an open, international forum of IPv6 expertise; sharing IPv6 knowledge and experience among members; promoting new IPv6-based applications and global solutions; promoting interoperable implementations of Ipv6 standards; co-operating to achieve end-to-end quality of service; and resolving issues that create barriers to IPv6 deployment. The IPv6 Forum is registered in Luxembourg and was created July 17, 1999.
