Learning Content Management System (LCMS) Council
Overview: The Learning Content Management System (LCMS) Council was formed to promote broad market awareness of the benefits to learners provided by Learning Content Management System (LCMS) infrastructures. A LCM system is "a multi-user environment where learning developers can create, store, reuse, manage, and deliver digital learning content from a central object repository." The LCMS Council helped customers to clarify the importance and value of LCMS tools and feature sets in comparison with other learning technologies. The Council was particularly concerned about helping to define the position of LCMS tools in relation to the evolving SCORM and AICC standards for both customers and users.
