MB Project

Overview: The Medical Banking Project researched and facilitated cross-industry models that optimize bank resources for healthcare. Established in 2001, MBProject consolidated pro-bono, educational and commercial activities. Members of the MB Project included legal analysts, writers and studio production experts who supported the following activities: administering cross-industry forums (i.e., Workgroups, Medical Banking Institutes, Medical Banking Policy Forums, The Great American Interoperability Tour™); providing subject matter expertise (i.e., HFMA SME; eLearning tools; LexisNexis' Health Care Law Treatise ; NCVHS testimony) and pro-bono research for policy makers (i.e., CMS, OCR, OCC); offering strategic advisory services that facilitate broad industry innovations in medical payment and remittance channels (i.e., Medical Banking Exchange, theARXchange); aggregating the research into an educational and interactive membership portal that contains industry-leading white papers on medical banking topics; engaging prominent industry leaders in nationally recognized policy webcasts (i.e. HIPAA Policy Roundtables with the "HIPAA Gang"; Telebriefings; etc.); drafting certification and accreditation proposals (i.e., EHNAC "Bank Clearinghouse"); and implementing charitable and faith-based funds distribution models (i.e., Charitable Communities Network/SHARENET.TV). *The MB Project ceased independent operations in 2009 and became a part of HIMSS as the HIMSS Medical Banking Project, or HIMSS MBProject.
