Regional Alliance for Infrastructure and Network Security (RAINS)
Overview: The Regional Alliance for Infrastructure and Network Security (RAINS) worked to strengthen the U.S. information infrastructure and build awareness about the urgency of increasing homeland security. The Alliance attempted to increase security by fostering the development of strong, successful companies in this sector. The chief day-to-day mission of RAINS was to help promote the homeland security industry, both by raising the profile of the industry cluster and by helping individual companies grow their businesses. In order to fulfill this mission, RAINS established the following goals: to provide a forum for organizations to interact around issues of security, exchanging information, and solving problems; to promote security products and services locally and nationally; and to develop relationships with other national and international security-related organizations.
