Overview: The Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA) protects and promotes members' interests in government and advances the key common interests of the industry. The Association comprises companies and senior executives from diverse sectors of the computer and communications industry, including information technology, telecommunications, and networking equipment manufacturers, in addition to software, Internet, telecommunications, and financial service providers, re-sellers, integrators and others. CCIA holds regular conferences around the country, bringing executives together to discuss pending issues, learn about new developments in industry and technology, and interact with one another. The Association also undertakes impartial and scholarly studies on important issues; participates as amicus curiae in select litigation; and regularly produces testimony, reports, and other publications. CCIA lobbies in many areas of policy and legislation ranging from e-commerce, intellectual property, and anti-trust to trade, education, privacy, and broadband.
