Overview: NSF International, founded in 1944 as the National Sanitation Forum, provides public health and safety risk management solutions through product certification and safety audits as well as the development of standards for the food and water industries. NSF International is also a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Food Safety and for Drinking Water Safety and Treatment. The NSF Mark can be found on consumer, commercial, and industrial products. Products evaluated and certified by NSF International include bottled water, food equipment, home water treatment products, home appliances, plumbing and faucets, and pool and spa components. Technical resources at NSF include physical and performance testing facilities and analytical chemistry and microbiology laboratories. NSF certification programs are accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).
