Overview: LonMark International promotes and advances integration of open, multi-vendor control systems utilizing ANSI/EIA/CEA 709.1 and related standards. LonMark International was formed in May 1994 and its members include manufacturers, end-users, equipment specifiers and system integrators. Its goal is to enable the integration of multi-vendor systems based on LONWORKS networks, which are used to provide systems and solutions for building, home, industrial, telecommunications, transportation and other industries. Major functions of LonMark International are: to promote interoperable LonMark products; to provide collaborative marketing programs for companies developing LonMark products; to provide a forum to define application-specific design requirements; and to enable verification of conformance to LonMark interoperability guidelines.
