ASIS International (ASIS)

Overview: Founded in 1955, ASIS International, formerly the American Society for Industrial Security, is a professional organization for security professionals which issues certifications, standards, and guidelines for the security profession. The organization has more than 33,000 members including: security personnel, corporate executives, management personnel, consultants, architects, attorneys, and federal, state, and local law enforcement. ASIS provides educational programs and materials that address security concerns, such as the ASIS Annual Seminar and Exhibits, as well as specific security topics. It also publishes a monthly magazine focused on the issues and concerns of security and security management.
