Near Field Communication Forum (NFC Forum)

Overview: The NFC Forum is a non-profit industry association formed in 2004, by NXP Semiconductors, Sony, and Nokia to advance the use of NFC short-range wireless interaction in consumer electronics, mobile devices, and PCs. The Forum's mission is to advance the use of Near Field Communication technology by developing specifications, ensuring interoperability among devices and services, and educating the market about NFC technology. The NFC Forum promotes implementation and standardization of NFC technology to ensure interoperability between devices and services. The NFC Forum has around 200 member companies.
