Overview: Founded in 1987, ESTA was a non-profit commercial trade association representing the North American entertainment technology industry. The Association grew to over 600 members in the United States and Canada and around the world. ESTA's functions included: representing the interests of members within the industry, in allied fields and in governmental affairs; investigating and disseminating information about areas of common business concerns; advising and assisting members in the conduct of their businesses; providing services that directly reduce the costs of doing business; providing business and technical information and training; developing programs to make the industry safer and more productive; and promoting ethical business practices through our Code of Conduct. *Merged with the Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA) in 2010.
