ARCNET Trade Association (ATA)

Overview: The ARCNET Trade Association (ATA) was first incorporated in Illinois in August 1987 in order to promote ARCNET in the computer industry and the use of the ANSI/ATA 878.1 standard. Membership consists of users of end products, developers and vendors of products, dealers, distributors, re-sellers and system integrators, and others interested in ARCNET. The ATA's objective is to: provide a universal clearing house for information about ARCNET; support educational activities about ARCNET; provide for discussion of items of common interest by users, developers, and vendors; provide management for the development of standards associated with ARCNET. In 1991, the ARCNET Trade Association (ATA) received accreditation by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as a standards developer using the canvass method.
