Open Source Initiative (OSI)

Overview: The focus of the Open Source Initiative (OSI) is managing and promoting the Open Source Definition, specifically through the OSI Certified Open Source Software certification mark and program, which identifies a given piece of software as complying with the OSI definition of "Open Source". It also makes copies of approved open source licenses available. Its mission includes owning and defending the Open Source Definition, developing branding programs attractive to software customers and producers, and promoting the cause of open-source software.
