Overview: The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) is comprised of more than 500 media and technology companies that are responsible for selling the majority of online advertising in the United States. The primary goal of IAB is to help online, interactive broadcasting, email, wireless, and interactive television media companies increase their revenues. IAB objectives in this regard involve: increasing the share of advertising and marketing dollars that interactive media captures in the marketplace; organizing the industry to set standards and guidelines that make interactive media a more attractive choice for agencies and marketers to utilize in order to buy and capture value; proving and promoting the effectiveness of interactive media-based advertising to advertisers, agencies, marketers, and press; acting as an advocate for the interactive media marketing and advertising industry; and expanding the breadth and depth of IAB membership.
