Picture Services Network (PSN)

Overview: Picture Services Network (PSN) provided the management and operational support necessary to run the PSN Directory Service. PSN was an organization affiliated with The International Imaging Industry Association (I3A), which was creating a suite of CPXe interoperability specifications. The CPXe specifications and the PSN Directory Service were together intended to assist consumers and businesses in finding, accessing, and using Internet-connected and retail photo services, using familiar search criteria such as a zip code or desired product type. Participating service providers were expected to include photo-enabled device manufacturers; photo-enabled Web sites and portals; independent software vendors; traditional and non-traditional photo retailers; online photofinishers; and photofinishing system integrators.
