Web Services Interoperability Organization (WS-I)

Overview: WS-I was formed to promote Web services interoperability across platforms, operating systems, and programming languages; and to create, promote, and support generic protocols for the interoperable exchange of messages between services. WS-I defines "generic protocols" as protocols that are independent of any specific action indicated by the message, beyond those actions that are necessary for the secure, reliable, or efficient delivery of messages; and "interoperable" as meaning suitable for and capable of being implemented in a neutral manner on multiple operating systems and in multiple programming languages. *Merged with OASIS http://www.oasis-ws-i.org/
