Overview: Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) is dedicated to the promotion of modeling and simulation (M&S) interoperability and reuse for the benefit of diverse M&S communities, including developers, procurers, and users, world-wide. Founded in 1989, SISO focuses on facilitating simulation interoperability and component reuse across the Department of Defense and other government and non-government applications, and seeks to serve the broad modeling and simulation (M&S) community by: providing a forum for the interchange of ideas, concepts, and technology through simulation interoperability workshops and conferences on behavior representation in modeling and simulation; educating M&S practitioners regarding implementation through tutorials held at workshops and through the quarterly publication of an on-line technical magazine; and supporting the development of standards, practices and guides for use in various applications. SISO has over 1000 members from numerous countries, representing approximately 400 organizations.
