Overview: Radicchio was founded in order to facilitate the establishment of a cross-industry platform for wireless transactions by promoting wireless data services such as wireless e-commerce (m-commerce), wireless e-government (m-government), and other wireless initiatives including m-healthcare, m-ticketing, and on-demand multimedia services. Radicchio was a forum seeking to establish a trust infrastructure and the accompanying business architectures for electronic transactions performed using wireless devices, such as mobile phones and PDAs. Radicchio's overall goals included: raising industry and consumer awareness in wireless e-commerce, PKI and secure wireless transactions through marketing and PR activities; defining processes for digital signature certification and registration; lobbying regulatory and standards bodies to ensure laws and technology support the growth of the wireless e-commerce market; providing a showcase for members to display their ideas on PKI-based wireless devices and solutions; and promoting a common public-key infrastructure standard for mobile phone security. *RADICCHIO joined the Liberty Alliance in 2003, http://www.projectliberty.org/.
