1355 Association

Overview: The 1355 Association promoted the IEEE 1355 standard by co-coordinating the activities of producers, users and research. Its membership includes corporations of all sizes, consultants, universities and research institutes, suppliers of chips embodying IEEE 1355 and OEMs. Networks and other applications built using IEEE 1355 connect a wide range of devices through different network topologies using a selection of compatible protocols, and are intended to provide low-cost, serial point-to-point connections which can provide very high system performance while running at conservative speeds. IEEE compliant products and services include chips, connectors, cables, boards, systems, software, intellectual property (IP) and technology consulting. The 1355 Association came under the wing of ISTO, the IEEE Industry Standards and Technology Organization.
